Krobo Beads Necklace – Korlekaa, in green and red colourful designs. Adjustable slide knot fastening. Light weight, 55cm approxi length necklace
Here, I designed recycled glass Krobo beads using Chevron design Recycled glass Krobo beads. Now, these patterns on the beads form part of the actual bead material. More so, they do not rub off, stain clothing or fade with time. The intricate line works are formed by oxidation during firing in kiln.
How Artisans Craft your Krobo Beads
I handpick these stunning and sizeable African trade Krobo beads directly from Krobo Odumase, Southern Ghana. Here, recycled glass is crushed and heated to molten form inside clay molds by artisan craftsmen. Now, making recycled beads are the main preoccupation of the folks men. Also, women who trade their handcrafted beads make a living distributing and selling these traditional beads. Therefore, Krobo bead making is now, a thriving industry and that is how some of those local people make a living. I like to support our local Ghanaian industries. Hence, I pay fair prices for these exotic wares.
